Dinners

We are very pleased to be able to offer school lunches at Silverdale St John’s.  We do not cook lunches on the premises – they are cooked at and brought in from Carnforth Community Primary School.
There is a choice of hot and cold food, including hot meat and vegetarian dishes, as well as a seasonally changing salad bar. There is also a choice of desserts, including fresh fruit and yoghurt. We send out menus in advance and ask our families to make their choices of lunch and send them back into our school office.  We then make sure each child gets their chosen lunch on the day they wish.

Most families take up the option of a warm and nutritious lunch for their child. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are all able to get a UIFSM (Universal Infant Free School Meal) which is paid for through government funding. Some families (Year 3 and above), in receipt of benefits, may be entitled to free school meals and the school will support these families to receive government funded free meals.
